A research proposal, entitled "Monitoring of atmospheric deposition and multimedia fates of persistent organic pollutants", is to be accepted by the Korea research foundation.



This is a three-year project and the purpose of this study is to understand the fate of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) which are introduced into multimedia environmental compartments via atmospheric deposition. For this purpose, (1) the evaluation of various types of atmospheric deposition samplers, (2) air-soil gas exchange, accumulation, and runoff properties of POPs with different soil types, (3) and seasonal monitoring of atmospheric deposition and multimedia fates of POPs will be studied.
